Most of my work as a speaker comes from my hour-long story lectures. You can read more about these in the Talk section. Each deals with a different aspect of game culture or design — Double Tap is about guns, Undocumented about mythology, The Mountain about choice — interwoven with a story (or stories). These are intense pieces that ask questions; my aim is to teach people things I think are important in a way they’ll remember, influenced by the lessons I’ve learned from writing for theatre, radio presenting and stand-up comedy.

I’m also a Senior Lecturer on Game Design at London South Bank University and deliver guest lectures at institutions around the world. My classroom teaching is built around practical lessons on creativity and industry practice. These sessions can be introduced by one of the stories, which frame detailed discussion and workshops, or by participants’ own projects.

If you’d like me to talk at your event or school please get in touch.
